In 2010, rust-colored toxic waste from an aluminum factory in Western Hungary spilled out onto the nearby area, dousing villages and killing nine people. Spanish photographer Palíndromo Mészáros documented the aftermath in his work “The Line”—indicating the highest point the red sludge reached.
